Alojz Androvič: Feedback as an indicator of effectivity and quality

The review, critical evaluation of previous development and behaviour is one of the effective forms of feedback. At least it can serve to strengthen our conviction that things we do today are much better than the ones of yesterday, that the new generation wins against the previous not only by power but also by quality. Let´s set the rear-view mirror for a moment to a short excursion to the past development of library systems with special attention paid to status and responsibilities of user.

Pavel Kocourek: Effective retrieval of information dealing by user

During the last ten years the information trade profited due to the regular reduction of the data stores prices. The computer systems offered relatively simple and cheap preservation of data – in the databases, on complete servers or email archives. The basic purpose of these solutions was successful – they offered environment for creating a huge amount of electronic information which are gathered in application „garner“ today.

However the environment has been changed. Nowadays the present development is determined by the return of intellectual ownership as well as by the increase of transactions. The infrastructure that has served well up to now for the deposition of data is failing at the moment when the effective use of stored information is needed. The author deals with this topic in his article.
