SUMMARY
Anna Kucianová Standards – kinds, development and application To define individual existing kinds of standards employed by the s.c. „memory institutions“ is the aim of the contribution. The question of defining the term „standard“ is to be solved. The European Guide to Competences in the field of library and information services issued by SKIP in Prague in 2006 is introduced. It represents a translation of the original version resulting from research performed under the framework of Leonardo da Vinci, offerred by the European Commission. From its competences the I 06 competence Analysis and presentation of information has been selected. Standards of information processing and presentation in library and information systems – ISBD, AACR2, UNIMARC, MARC 21, STN and ISO standards, new FRBR and RDA activities and possibilities of their utilization are covered by this competence.
