Ľubica Jedličková: Useful digital content and the knowledge society Inseparable part of dictionary of a contemporary
man there are the terms such as Internet, virtual reality, electronic mail etc. They
relate with the development of information and communication technologies and their
radical pressure on all areas of society life. On one hand the electronic communication
environment represents possibilities of improving the quality of life, on the other hand
it creates pressure which can affect a man negatively. The process of information
society development has come to the phase which is being referred to as a new economic
model – the knowledge society is being formed. Amount of information in the shape of
broad spectrum of the digital content causes the information chaos. The libraries have the
place of their own in the communication chain and they are being affected by all changes
reflecting in the process of information communication. The content which is being
mediated to the users has to saturate not only their information needs but also respect
form requirements in the shape of linking up services. The digital content requires The possibility and the right to access to that content must be given to all citizens without exception, the questions of digital discrimination are the sensitive ones.
Blanka Vorlíčková: Electronic systems of the cultural heritage The article deals with electronic systems of the cultural heritage problems and accessing hereof heritage in the web environment. It goes in for characteristics and division of that systems, it introduces the main organizations and conferences becoming involved in the given problem, it shortly defines current activities in that field in the world and in the Czech Republic. As for an example there is the nineteen systems mentioned there at the close accessing cultural heritage of various specialization and contents.
