Science Café for Young People

What is it?

Science Café for Young People is intended for students aged from 12 to 20 and their teachers. It is held outside of the academic grounds.

Science Café for Young People provides students with an opportunity to discuss current and hot topics in science and technology with respected Slovak or foreign scientists. Rather than giving a presentation, these sessions are conducted in an informal, relaxed and friendly atmosphere which spontaneously encourages students to participate in scientific discourse. In the course of the event, students can help themselves to a cup of tea, mineral water and cakes, which also contributes to this pleasant atmosphere. Science Café for Young People lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Topics selected include current news such as gene manipulations, biotechnologies, global warming, robotics, artificial intelligence, development of information technologies, etc.
